Chevron Red and Black
This is my final project. I had never crocheted before and wanted to make a scarf. So I did.
Winter
This is our class project and we chose a season out of the four seasons and were told to paint on our canvas our interpretation of the season. I chose winter and felt that the blues and white were accurate and a good representation of winter.
Chevron Bag Weave
We were instructed to create something out of yarn but it could not be plain. I chose to weave a chevron type pattern. I also decided to create a bag because it seemed like something neat.
Think Outside the Box
We were given a small square magazine clip and were told to continue the image if we would like but also add something to make it unique. Basically, think outside of the box! From left to right is my progress.
Panda-guin
|
We were instructed to created alebrijes. We started by writing down a list of animals that we want to incorporate into one. Mine is a combination of a panda and a penguin with kind of duck legs. We made them out of clay, put them through the kiln and then painted them. I chose bright colors and fun prints to make it fun to look at. |
Self-Portrait Progress
|
We were instructed to create a self-portrait. The first picture was an in-class demo following along with our teacher. The second image is when we actually took more time to create a more solid piece. As you go through the pictures you can see I added more value and color. I chose my cheerleading uniform for the shirt to show more about me. The elements in the background show a little bit about me as well and the activities I am involved in. |
Pink Floating Flower
This is my final art project for semester I. I based this watercolor painting off of Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings of enlarged flowers. I struggled with the middle of flower. I tried to use watercolor and salt but it was not turning out a way that I had liked, so I decided to cover it with more pink layers and gray. I went through each flower petal and painted them individually then went back and added layer after layer of water color to create value. I chose the blue background to really make the flower pop and give an illusion somewhat.
Black & White Op Art
We were instructed to create an image using three different
techniques that are seen in op art. I used the ripple looking effect, black and white effect, and striping technique.

Spikes
We were not given any instructions like before, but were
told to create an abstract piece. I started out with chalk for the background but did not like it so I used oil pastels to cover it and create the rest of the piece.
Abstract Value
We were given instructions telling us to draw a circle, draw a cone, draw a square, etc.
to create an abstract piece then add value to it. For this project I used oil pastels and did not think about what I was doing, but basically just drew whatever.
Elephant
We created 10 collograph prints using intaglio and relief techniques with the materials of yarn, string, sand,
tissue paper, etc. I found that the more paint I blobbed onto my template, the better the image would come out, as you can see.
